When I got my first cactus painting request it was 8 years into this project. I made the joke that I guess none of my requesters were kangaroo rats. Because they eat cactus. (Lol I’m hilarious.) Then I remarked that it was surprising no one had ever requested a kangaroo rat because they’re darn cute. Well, that ended up prompting a kangaroo rat request. And yes they are still, in fact, darn cute.
